BrainSTORM!!!!!!! part 2.

Micro elements for our thriller:

for the mise-en-scene in our thriller we are going to have to look carefully at costume.
as stated before we are going to have to have one of our characters in lots of clothes to make them look masculine. the other person will just need to be in everyday clothes. we are going to use a baseball bat as the weapon for the killer to carry, we will also use a computer for the beginning of the sequence. we will need to use fake blood as well. we are going to film it in colour because we think it will give a better effect. the setting is the woods so there isn't really much we can change about that.
the lighting we use will be natural in the woods but when we are inside using the computers we may have to use lights.
we don't really need to look at make up because there wont be many (if any) shots of the characters faces.

for the camera work we will use lots of different shots. to start withe when we are in the room with the computers we will need to use the tripod, and will have close ups of the screen. then when it gets to the woods we will do hand held to help set the scene because it will be shaky to show what the characters are feeling. we may also use close ups of the victims face to show their expressions. we will also use long shots and pans of the characters running through the forest.

the editing will be quite simple because we will need it to have continuity and to be in chronological order. we will use lots of smooth cuts to get it to fit together well.

the sound is going to be important because we need it to set the scene. we will need to it set the mood for the rest of the film, for example in Jaws, we know that every time we hear the certain sound the shark is near. this is because it creates tension. there will be diegetic sound in our sequence because the characters will be breathing heavily when running, also there will be the sound of their footsteps on the leaves etc in the woods. we may also use non-diegetic sounds in it- like a theme tune.

we have decided not to use istop motion because after our children's film we realized it takes a long time to get it all together.
the only special effect we will be using is false blood and having the credits come up when a footprint is made in the mud.
